This is a huge book, with an even bigger message, and I totally believe it was written for those of us who are into Christmas in every way possible. I have never seen a more complete piece of work on this subject in my life. The author has constructed this humongous undertaking in three distinct sections. Christmas the holiday, is for the fanciful and fun part of Christmas here I found the merriment of Santa, elves and so much more. What would happen if Santa went on a talk show as an expert toy maker?

In Christmas the historic day, we learn of the evolution of Saint Nicholas into Santa Claus, over 200 events that happened at Christmas time throughout the centuries to people like George Washington, Shirley Temple, Martin Luther King etc. And in the last of this special trilogy Christmas the holy day, (cleverly referred to by William as Christ's Mass) we look at the spiritual and religious aspects of Christmas from many different stand points. I would recommend it to anyone who has a need to know the deeper meanings of this special holiday, and for many holy day. I hope you will remember that the topic of Christmas has been one of joy and conflict throughout the ages and to that end the author has shown us he was up to this task of expressing the true colors of Christmas.
