Page 5. The brook in the west part of the town (Hurd farm), which is unnamed on town maps, was called in the transfer of real estate in 1772, Fisher's Brook.

Page 26. The following are the names of all those who paid a poll tax in the Springfield Parish in 1732. This list probably includes all the male residents at that time, and is given to supersede the list there given, which is imperfect, and contains non-residents.

Page 36, line 28, read Miss Caulkins in her history, instead of Mr. Caulkins in his history.

Page 85. Some papers recently found indicate that Col. Ebenezer Battle lived in Dedham First Parish, instead of the Springfield Parish.

Page 109, line 23, read absence for observance.

Page 143, read Simon Cheney for Simeon Cheney, wherever found.

Page 181. The statement about the first Christmas tree is founded on the fact that there was one at the First Parish Vestry in 1859 or 1860. If held in 1860 there is no priority in date, as there was a Christmas tree at the Rev. Mr. Norton's the same year.
