Margie overheard Brock's gasp and quickly turned in his direction. "What's wrong?" she asked, as a deep fear gripped her stomach, and then she saw it. By the light of the moon, she could see him holding up a broken piece of rope.. During a storm on the Atlantic, disaster strikes a group of orphan children and they become separated from their beloved leader, Mr. Carver. Desperate and alone, the eleven orphans discover an old, abandoned castle and make it their home. Questions remain at the forefront as they encounter many twists and turns through the story: Did the Haven survive the fire? Will they ever see Mr. Carver again? Follow them through their journey as they discover that God is in control, and learn how to trust Him in everything. However, will they remain faithful as they battle the overwhelming odds that ultimately lead to the biggest surprise of all? Cara Simmons was born in Vermont and raised in a Godly Christian home. As a teenager, she began to spend many hours reading novels, and writing her own thoughts in journals and in story form. It was with her own siblings, neighbor children, and children she babysat that the idea for a forgotten, tropical island formed and became the focal point for many stories. Through the years, she has continued to develop the idea and this book is the outcome of all her years of hard work. She graduated from her family's home school in 1993. Cara currently resides in Connecticut with her husband and children.
