In life, there are always times when we hit rough spots. In my professional life and home-life, I was always prepared with a well-stocked first aid kit. However, I did not do as well in my personal life. When things got tough, I did not have a "spiritual" first aid kit. The Bible is full of words of advice, comfort and solace; but I often felt too overwhelmed by the difficulties of the moment to search for them. Over a ten-year period, I began to keep a list of scriptures that were helpful to me and started writing in an effort to find my way through my emotional struggles. God blessed my quest. I found that when I poured my heart out to God on paper, he guided me through the process to a better place. I hope this book will do the same for you. Susan Carter Garber is a retired special education teacher. After teaching children with learning disabilities both in the United States and overseas, she started working as a freelance writer of special education curriculum. Writing allowed her to stay at home while helping her husband raise a son and daughter. A developing neurological disorder turned her thoughts inward as she learned to rely increasingly on God's grace and goodness. Susan has written this book in a desire to share the comfort God has given her as she tackled the rough spots in life. Susan would be happy to hear from readers at her blog: http: //fortheroughspotsinlife.blogspot.com.
