STEPHEN LEACH (John, Giles, Lawrence'), of West Bridgewater, Mass., was born at South Bridgewater 28 Jan. 1698; died in 1729. He married at West Bridgewater in 1725, Sarah, daughter of John Hooper, and she married second, in 1737, Ebenezar Snow.

56. EBENEZER LEACH (John, Giles,' Lawrence'), of West Bridgewater, Mass., was born at South Bridgewater Dec. 1702; and died 1803? He married first, in 1734, Joanna, daughter of Josiah Washburn; and secondly, in 1739, Lydia Tilson of Halifax. In 1730 his cousin Josiah Leach, conveyed land to him. 59. SERGT. SOLOMON LEACH (John, Giles, Lawrence'), of Bridgewater, Mass., and Westmoreland, N. H., born at South Bridgewater, 19 Feb. 1712. He married three times, first 14 Apr. 1736, at Bridgewater, Tabitha, born 1716 at Bridgewater, died there 1736 daughter of Samuel' and Abigail (Samuel, John,2 Hon. John' Washburn); secondly, 19 Apr. 1738, Jerusha Byrant of Plympton. She died 1743; thirdly, 6 Aug. 1743, at West Bridgewater, Hannah,' born 4 Mar. 1725, at West Bridgewater, daughter of No. 20 Benjamin3 Leach, Esq., and Hepzibah,ʻ (Washburn), daughter of Joseph' and Hannah' (Latham), daughter of Robert' Latham, and Susannah daughter of John Winslow and Mary (Chilton), of the Mayflower 1620. John Winslow was shipping merchant, deputy and member of council of war, and a brother of Gov. Edward.

Sergt. Solomon's service in the French and Indian War's and his war record in the State House at Boston, is too long to mention here. He enlisted in 1758-59 and 60, and was again in service in 1761; Capt. Lemuel Dunbar's Co., Col. John Thomas' Regt.; also in various other Co's., and Regt's.

Thomas Doty's Regt., raised by the Province of Massachusetts Bay for the reduction of Canada. Entered service 2 May, served until 4 Sept; service 4 mos. 14 days 16 days travel. Reported 10 days billeting allowed; discharged 19 Aug. year not given; endorsed 1758; charged £3 for arms not returned; also on a billeting roll of Capt. Simeon Cary's Co. Col. Thomas Doty's Regt.; enlisted 2 May, roll made up to 30 May, 1758; 29 days; amount 19s. 4d."

James Leach, Bridgewater, Private, appears on a Muster Roll, dated Boston, 2 Feb. 1757, of a company in His Majesty's service, under the command of Capt. John Loring. Entered service 22 Apr., served until 4 Oct., length of service 23 weeks, 5 days, reported dead. Year not given, endorsed 1756, on Crown Point Expedition.

He also appears on a Muster Roll of Capt. John Loring's Co., mustered according to a return dated 11 Oct. 1756, by Henry Leddel, Muster Master General of the Provincial Army, raised for an expedition against Crown Point. Reported sick at Fort Edward.
