A total zero and his only friend are tired of being unpopular. They are determined to change that before they enter high school. The head cheerleader can't understand why her boyfriend, the star quarterback, is suddenly giving her "the cold treatment". When she finds out the reason, she takes action. The easygoing, well dressed student with a love for poetry and the attractive, new school student seems to be the picture of the charmed life until a misunderstanding unravels his cool and causes tension among the student body.
