THE following Analysis of Ariftotle's Logic has been hitherto known to the Public only as an Appendix to one of Lord Kames's Sketches of the Hiftory of Man. The high estimation in which it has been long held by the best Judges in both parts of this Island, has induced the Editor (in whom the Copy Right of Lord Kames's Philofophical Works is vefted) to detach it from the voluminous Publication of which it originally formed a part, and to print it in a feparate Tract, for the ufe of Academical Students. In doing so, he has the fatisfaction of complying with the wishes of fome of the most eminent Profeffors in the Scottish Univerfities, who have repeatedly urged him to give a more general circulation to a perform ance of fuch acknowledged merit and utility.
