Between Global and Local: Marginality and Marginal Regions in the Context of Globalization and Deregulation

The definitions for 'marginality' and 'marginal regions' are vague and differ between academic disciplines. Marginal Regions could however be characterized as regions lying off mainstream processes (in a sort of vacuum) both in society and economy, but also in relation to the natural environment and geographical remoteness.
