I. The inference which is made from it is abfurd. Fer tho' an evil is general, it does not follow, that it is to no purpofe to endeavour to keep our (elves free from it; unlefs it were an evil from which men could not poflibly preferve themfelves. There have been always and there will always be difeafes in the world; and yet no man hitherto has been (0 weak as to maintain, that the precautions and remedies Which are ufed againft. Difeafes, are altogether ufelef's. Thus tho' corruption reigns in the world yet that does not hinder, but that men ought to ufe thofe means which God affords them to that end.
