and Patrons of the MISCELLANEA GENEALOGICA ET HERALDICA for the continued support given to the Magazine, and to the Contributors for the various Papers which he has been enabled to publish, including monumental inscriptions gathered in various parts of the world.

For the two illuminated Plates of Arms given with the Pedigree of the Cokayne Family he is indebted to G. E. COKAYNE, Esq., F.S.A., Clarenceux King-of-Arms, which, with the number of engraved seals, make his article very valuable and interesting. Mr. GEORGE GRAZEBROOK, F.S.A., also contributed a Pedigree proved from 1200, which will no doubt attract considerable attention, every descent being covered by sufficient documentary and contemporary evidences; there is also a number of illustrative autographs and seals.

The Registers of Maidstone will finish in the succeeding Volume, and the Editor has to regret the death of the transcriber of them, the Rev. J. CAVE-BROWNE, which took place on 13th June, 1898. He was an indefatigable genealogist and archæologist, and had been one of the Council of the British Archæological Association for some years.
