London Chronicle, April 22, 1777 (Antigua, Feb. 22): "We have four privateers lying here now which have been taken within these three weeks; they are as follow: The brig Black Eagle, of 16 guns, John Brown, commander; Royal African, a snow of 14, Miles Baker; the Neptune, of 14, Charles Thompson; and the schooner King Herod, of 10, William Baker. They all had been out a long time and had taken several prizes, some of which they plundered and released, and others they sent for Boston."
