In the fame Year 1738, I published, The Longitude discovered by the Eclipfes, Occultations, and Conjunctions of Jupiter's Planets. To which was added, The Configurations of thofe Planets for the latter half of that Year. But I afterward added, in its Stead, A Table of the Eclipfes, Occultations, and Conjunctions of fuch of thofe Pla nets as might be useful in the Discovery of the Longitude, for the Years 1739, 1740, 1741, and 1742. With a large Hiftorical Preface, reach ing till the Year 1745, 8vo. Price 2 s. 6 d.

N. B. I procured a Copy of those Tables, by which these Eclipfes were calculated, for that fkilful Author of our annual Ephemerides, the late Mr. Weaver. Whence he has every Year fince given us their Calculations, to the great Advantage of Aftronomers and Obfervers.

Since I have fo long and fo kindly been treated at Finchley, by the now very old Man Mr. Henry Whichcote, and particularly by his Son, Mr. Paul Whichcote, fo as to make it, when I please, my Place of Reft and Retirement, and where I take always the Freedom to communicate and debate any of my Notions and Difcoveries before they are published: And fince I was in these Years 1738, and 1739, intrufted with the Recommendation of a good Number of poor Clergymen, to a Charity left by one of that Family, I cannot but add a fmall Account of it in this Place.
