1 Committee of Publication CHARLES FRANCIS ADAMS EDWIN FRANCIS GAY GEORGE PEABODY WETMORE WORTHINGTON CHAUNCEY FORD T is agreed between the Master, Seamen and Mariners of the as Adventure IT whereof Mittants Master, nure bound from the Port of Newport, Rhode-Island, to panista and from thence to L foredaid THAT in Consideration of the Monthly or other Wayes, against each respective Seaman and Mariner's Name hereunler set, they severally shall and will perform the abovementioned Voyage. And the frid Master deth hereby agree with, and hire the taid Seamen and Mariners for the said Voyage, at such Monthly Wages, to be paid pursuant to the Laws of Great Britain. And they the said Seamen and Mariners do hereby promise and oblige themselves to do their Dury, and obey the lawful Commands of their Officers on board the faid loop or thic Boats thereunto belonging, as becomes good and faithful Searnen and Mariners : And at all Piaces where the taid I hope thall put in, or anchor at, during the Paid Voyage, to do their best Endeavours for the Prefervation of the said hoopher and Cargo, and do not refuse nor neglect doing their Duty by Day or Night, nor o out of the said on board any other Veffel, or on More, under any pretence whatsoever, without Leave first obtained of the Cptain or Commanding Officer on board: That in Default chereof, they will not only be liable to the Penalties mentioned in an Act of Parliament made in the Second Year of the Reign of King GEORGE the Second, entituled, “ da ta for the better Regulation and Government of Seamen in the Merchant's Service," but will further, in Cafe they should on any Account whatsoever, leave or defert the said Flowp without the Master's Consent, 'till the abovementioned Voyage be ended, and the loop discharged of her Loading, be liable to forfeit and lose what Wages may at Tuch Time of their Desertion be due to them, tog-ther with every ther Goods, Charte's, &c. on board, renouncing, by these Presents, all Title, Right, Demand and Pretension thereunto forever, for them, their Heirs, Executors, and Administrators. And it is further agreed by both Parties, that Forty-eight Hours Absence, without Leave, shall be deemed a total Delirion, and renler fuch Seamen and Mariners liable to the Penalties abovementioned : That each and every lawful Command, which the said Mafter shall think necessary hereafter to flue, for the eft:ctual Government of the said Veffel, fupprefing Inmorality and Vice of all kinds, be ttrictly complied with, under Penalty of the Person or persons difobeying, forieving his or their whole Wages, or Hire, together with every Thing belonging to him or them on board the said Veffel. And it is further agreed on, That no Officer of Discharge meewertern Ball demand, or be entitled to his Wages, or any part thereof, until the Arrival of the said loon at the abovementioned Port That each Seaman and Mariner, who frail well and truly perform the abovementioned Voyage (provided always that there be no Plunderage, Embettlement, or other unlawful Acts committed on the faid Vefiel's Cargo, or Stores) be entitled to the Wages or Hire that may become due to him, pursuant to this Agreement. That for the clue Performance of each and every of the abovementiuned Articles, igreements, and Acknowledgments of their being voluntary, and without Compulsion, or any clandestine Means being used, agreed to, and ligned by us.
