This collection of hymns has been compiled from varied sources, and is intended for varied use both public and private, with the special hope that it may find a place and meet a need among the Society of Friends.

Grateful acknowledgement is due and is hereby offered to the authors of hymns and owners of copyright who have kindly given permission to publish hymns owned by them. The claims of copyright have been carefully respected, and pardon is asked if in any case they have been unwittingly infringed.

Suitable tunes for the hymns will be found in the Tune Index. As far as possible they have, for convenience, been taken from one collection, the Bristol Tune Book; but reference is made to several other collections easily obtainable.
