Nearly all the coins of the United States in the collection were struck at the Philadelphia mint. So few of them bear the marks of other mints that it was not deemed best to make separate lists for the different mints. All mint-marks, however, are carefully noted.

loose hair, standing facing, on right foot, the left raised and resting upon a rock, in front of which lies an oak branch; she holds a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in the left; in the distance to left, the Capitol of the United States; to right, the date, M. C. M. VII. and beneath the date ASG (Augustus Saint-Gaudens) in monogram; in background, rising sun; the whole within a circle of forty six stars. Rev. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA | TWENTY DOLLARS.
