God be merciful unto us, and bless us and cause his face to shine upon us.. That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health a mong all nations. Let the people praise thee, O God: fet all the people praise three. O let the nations be glad, and sing for joy for thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth. Let the people praise thee, O God, let all the people praise thee. Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us. God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him. u Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and. passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? He retaineth not his anger forever, because he delighteth in mercy. He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; & thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. According to thy name, O God, so is thy praise unto the ends of the earth, thy right-hand is full of righteousness! w Hear thou from the heavens, even from thy dwelling-place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for; that all people of the earth may know thy name, and fear thee, as do thy people Israel. x And they that know thy name, will put their trust in thee. y Arise, O God, judge the earth; for thou shalt inherit all nations, z They shall fear thee as long as the sun and moon endure, through Micah, vii. 18, 19. * Psalm, Ixvii. FOR when we were yet without strength, in due time, Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet, peradventure, for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love towards us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. a Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have: gone astray. We have turned every one his own way, and Jehovah hath laid on him the in-iquity of us all. b He was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, & made intercession for the transgressors. c Christ: ■ Rom. v. 6, 7, Isa liii. 4, 5, 6, e∙Isa. liii. 124 died for our sins, according to the Scriptures. d He gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. e Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree; that we, being dead to sin, should live unto righteousnes; by whose stripes ye were healed. For now once in the end of the age, hath he appeared to put away sin, by the sacrifice of himself. m Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate. n Wherefore, in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. o Forasmuch, then, as the d1 Cor. xv. 3. e Tit. ii. 14. f1 Pet. ii 24, 25. g Gal. i. 4% Eph. ii. 4, 5. i 1 Thess. v. 10. j Heb. x. 14. And he died for all, that they who live, should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him that died for them, and rose again. a We see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor; that he, by the grace of God should taste death for every man. b For there is one God, and one Mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus: Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. c If any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: and he is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. d a 2 Cor. v. 14, 15. 6 Heb. ii. 9. c 1 Tim. ii. 5, 6. d1 John . 1, 2.
