BE IT REMEMBERED, That the twenty.fourth day of Feðruáry, A. D. 1830, in the Afty-fourth year of the Independence of the United States of America, G. & C. & H. Carvill, of the said district, have deposited in this offico the title of a book, the right whereof they claim as proprietors, in the words following, to wit:

• Synopsis of Mercantile Laws, with an Appendix : containing the most approved forms of Notarial and Commercial Precedents, special and commom, required in the daily transaction of business, by merchants, traders, notaries, attornies, &c. A now edition, revised, corrected, and enlarged, with reference lo the alterations eflected by the revised statutes of the state of New.York. By Joshua Montefiore, Attorney, Sol!çilor, and Notary Public. Author of the Com. mercial Dictionary, Notarial and Commercii Precedents, Law of Insolvents, &c. &c. &c.”

In conformity to the act of Congress of the Unted States, entitled, " An act for the encourage. ment of learning, by securing the copies of maps, charts, and books, to the uuthors and pioprietors of such copies, during the times therein mentioned;" and also, to an act, entitled, “ An act supplementary to an act, ensitled, an aci for the encouragement of learning, by securing the copies of maps, charts, and books, to the authors and proprietors of such copies, during the times therein mentioned, and extending the benefits thereof to ihearts of designing, engraving, and etching historical and other prints."
